Utopia (2025)
A collaborative cross-course project focusing on sustainability. My group focused on the Pimlico Farmer Market to address the issue of food waste in the UK; introducing seating areas and composting machines in the market square, encouraging local residents to use the space on non-market days and fostering community connections. By recycling food waste into compost and exchanging it for tokens, the project promotes an economically accessible bartering system. This approach leverages gamification and a sense of achievement to attract participation, enhancing food waste reuse, supporting sustainable food consumption, and ensuring long-term development.
My efforts as the lead graphic designer manifested in the flyers/posters, the brand name, the multicultural pattern that would be etched into the bio-glass monument, the designs of the tradeable tokens (made from an eggshell mixture), and a figma playthrough of the machine’s screen.
